Versus TV, now NBC sports TV - less hunting
« on: January 04, 2012, 08:04:53 AM »
I was afraid of this, VS tv channel was my source for a lot of hunting programming and it appears to me that after the change to NBC there is and will be significantly less of that programming.

Fortunatley there are still a couple other channels.

But this is what you can expect when mainstream media sticks its nose into a new area.
I figure it'll die a slow death now.

That was my fear as soon as I heard of the change.   :(   Is less hunting programing a for certain?   ???

I figured the same when I heard that it was going to be NBC programming. I've chked it out some but sure does seem
a lot less hunting, shooting and guns.

I expected Hockey to be the focus, and the outdoors would suffer.  But, I did not expect that with the remaining outdoors programming, fishing would replace much of the hunting shows.  Now, I just have to hope my cable provider offers another sports channel that has some hunting shows.  I know there are others.

I dont know what they have in store for the future, I am just looking at my future programming.  On the web site they have links to most of the shows they previously carried, but they do not show up in the schedule.  My laymans guess is that NBC would not make this change if they did not have larger hopes, and competing with ESPN is probably more in line with that.
