;D I suppose Bingo may be better than the tiddlywinks they've been playin. :o ;D
In the 1920's "sheeple" was a term coined by the National Socialist Party in Germany to describe people that would not vote for Hitler. In the 1930's they held Hitler as the only one that would bring pride back to Germany and bring the budget and economy back.....

Lol, or make a national lottery where 100% of the proceedes go towards paying off national debt.

Debt free country achieved in less than 1 year ;)
I'm voting 3rd party in this election by writing in Jesus Christ for president.  Sadly even if this were an option most of you would still vote Republican because "It's a two party system."

The so called Liberals are not liberal. They are statists. The founders of this country were not conservatives. They were liberals. The founders repeatedly declared that the revolution was to establish liberty, not necessarily democracy.. Ever notice that liberal and liberty have the same origins? Personal freedom. Neither the 'liberal' politicians or the 'conservative' polticians want to establish personal freedom. They only want to replace the opposition's version of oppression with their own version. They are both statists with the same goals. Their only disagreement is over who gets to make the rules.

Conservative also means staying with the "established" system or value system and not changing.  True conservatives want less government and truely do want to return to our roots.  The framers of the constitution established a democratic republic, not a democracy.  The also established a three legged stool of government, executive, legislative, and judicial.  Neither was supposed to be more powerful than the other.  Jackson was the first to defy the supreme court with the expulsion of Native Americans from east of the Mississippi.  Most had already adapted white mans ways and methods, like private ownership of property, farming, ect.  Many had intermarried with whites.  The supreme court said it was wrong to do this to the ones who were settled and not nomads.  He said let the supreme court create and army to stop him.  Congress did nothing because they supported this move to establish more states and have more land available for white settlers.  Then Lincoln violated the constitution also during the Civil War.  I think the supreme court justices should be elected to serve, say 12 year terms, by 12 regions, based on state lines and population, no jerrymandering.  I also think US senators should go back to being appointed by the governors and approved by the state legislatures.  They would represent the interest of the state and not public opinion which is sometimes wrong.  I think the founders knew what they were doing.  I also don't think the president should have the power of executive orders except in extreme emergencies with a conveining congress to approve it asap.  I also think ALL executive orders should be approved by congress.  I think congressmen should not serve over 12 years, nor senators over 12 years.  No retirements, no special insurance.

Dixie, great post!

Shame we only have on true conservative running for the office of President. Both parties have forgotten the face of their fathers.

True conservatives want less government and truely do want to return to our roots.

Not from what I've been seeing for many many years. The size and scope of government has grown under EVERY administration in my life time!

Less government seems to be the perview of ONLY the libertarians.

True conservitives want less government. Fewer restrictive laws and a return to the republic where we have three branches of government and not this fourth bearocracy that is creating their own laws, policing them, and reviewign them, acting as the three branches in one un represented (appointed) arm.
Libertarians want less laws.  Most could care less about the size of the government as long as they do not bother them.  We could have 60 new agancies added and as long as they were not DEA or ATF they could care less.

Liberals want bigger government and more laws to restrict what they do not like and to take care of the people that are not able to take care of themselves, most are racist thinking the color of skin limits your ability and they either need to give you leg up or take care of you.  Most want the laws to apply to others and not to themselves.  These are the peopel that want an end goal on social change.  The Pro choice movement was started by liberal women to curtail the amount of black welfare babies, they thought thatthe Blacks could not resist their urges and would not use birth control and the abortions was a way to limit the black population.

DOES ONE VOTE COUNT?

Yes! Especially if that vote is cast for a democrat by a dead man. In that instance that vote counts several times!

And Newt doesn't have anything in his resume to cause concern? ::) They all do. Paul has far less than any and the only one that would try and govern from the Constitution.

agree, Paul has the least. He walks the walk closer than just talking the talk.

And since this is a gun site , Just ask anyone of the Mass contributes to GBO about Romney;s positions of Gun rights when he was Gov. of Massachusetts.  Mass has some of most restrictive laws in U.S. and breaking them can get you some serious jail time. Now after all these years he suddenly does a flip flop 360 and embraces 2nd Amendment and touts he is a conservative. Give me a break , Romney will do or say anything to anyone to win the Big white house on the hill.

Good post scootrd.

Mitt's record on gun control is downright scary. The fact that anyone on this pro-gun forum would support him scares me even more.

“We do have tough gun laws in Massachusetts; I support them" “I won’t chip away at them; I believe they protect us and provide for our safety.”

Mitt Romney during the 2002 Massachusetts gubernatorial debate

Romney also signed into law a permanent ban on semi-automatic "assault weapons" while governor of Mass.

“These guns are not made for recreation or self-defense, they are instruments of destruction with the sole purpose of hunting down and killing people.”

Mitt Romney 7/8/04

Romney also spoke in favor of the Brady law’s five day waiting period on handguns.

“I don’t think (the waiting period) will have a massive effect on crime but I think it will have a positive effect.”

Mitt Romney 8/1/94

Do we really want to elect a guy like this?
"Necessity is the plea for every infringement of human freedom. It is the argument of tyrants; it is the creed of slaves."

---- William Pitt (the Younger), Speech in the House of Commons, November 18, 1783
