first trigger job=better shooting gun

No work for a couple weeks so Ive been bored. Decided to try and tackle my first trigger job. Im pretty excited about the outcome so I thought I would share.
 
The gun is a .223 with a 22 inch heavy barrel. I saved up change and bought this as my first rifle. Was planning on saving till I could buy a ruger no. 1 but found this one in a gun store and couldnt put it down. Always thought it was weird looking and Ive never seen another like it. It had a black painted stock but I sanded it down and refinished it with linseed oil. I also added an o-ring and sanded the forearm down to "float" the barrel. The gun has always been my favorite but that accuracy has never been that great and the trigger has always been stiff.
 
Anyway I followed the instructions in the faq as Ive never taken one of these apart and must say that it is super easy. Honed and polished everything up and now the gun has a smooth and crisp trigger. Turned out perfect and I couldnt be happier.

Congratulations! now that you know what these rifles can do, you are addicted! Passing on a Ruger in the future to have one of these in the rough and bring out its potental just plain addicted (Like most of us here)

I have had #1's, they are sure purdy, but I haven't seen one that would shot that good!!! PLUS you could own 4-5 handis for the price of one Ruger #1...for my $$ thats a no contest in favor of the handis!!

Soon after I bought this gun I was glad I didnt get the ruger. I still think that they are nice guns but like you said I could have 4 or 5 handi's for the price. Since I bought this .223 my dad got me a .410 pardner for christmas, my mom got me a .22 sporster, and Ive bought a .22 hornet, a heavy barrel .243, and a youth light .243 for my wife to hunt with.
 
The .22 hornet and .22 sporster both shoot the best completely stock. The .22 will drive nails at 50-100 yds and the hornet isnt far off. The .243 youth has a good trigger and is only used for deer hunting a few times a year. These guns I probably wont mess with. Except the sporster and Ive just got a wood stock for it   My heavy barrel .243 on the other hand may get the same treatment as the .223
 
So far Im planning on adding a 45/70 (there is one at the local gun shop for $200 but no work means no money) a .357 mag, and a .308 or 30/06, maybe both. I might add a .444 and .35 rem. A 30/30 would be cool too. And since Im getting a .357 I guess Ill want the .44 mag as well. And Im sure there are others.
