Most of th'ese poeple wouldn't know a real cowboy if they met one.  In the "old west" most of the people were easterners, a gun was a tool, and violence seldom crossed economic lines.  What people think of is the shoot em up movies.  There are still young people who are full of vinegar, but they don't bother with getting a CCW.  To quote an acquaaintance:  "Now that drunk at the end of the bar will have a gun."  Actually he always did have a gun, the question we want him to consider is if I have one.

Not too many "real" cowboys left.  A gun is a tool to them and isn't generally carried.
