Which gun museum do you like best?

Which gun museum do you like the best?
The one at the Buffalo Bill center in Cody, Wyoming is probably my favorite.
The NRA National Firearms Museum in Washington, D.C. has a lot of really nice guns, but it is hard to tell what they are sometimes.  You have to look many of them up on a computer. 
I'm sure there are a lot of other gun museums that I don't know about.

The Buffalo Bill museum in cody is amazing, but if you want a hole in the wall place to visit where you may be the only person there... "Range Riders Museum" in Miles City, MT is awesome. Almost everything in that museum is from the local area, old indian guns found while crews were paving roads... rifles found in the mud along the Yellowstone river.

I have only been there once but when I went the guy OPENED the museum just for myself and my wife to tour. An amazing little gem of a place that probably wont be around much longer

Haven't been to the Cody gun museum. I'll have to make that trip some day.
The J M Davis gun museum in Claremore , Ok is my favorite I go there at least once a year.
I visit a lot of smaller museums that have small but very interesting gun collections. I also like looking at guns that may be less than pristine but are true examples of what folks had and used. Many times these are the kinds of firearms you find in small town museums. In many cases they come with stories or local legends that are as interesting or more so than the guns them selves.

I could stay in that place for days. Been there twice and I don't think I've even come close to seeing all of it.

The J. M. Davis Gun Musuem for just the shear number of guns to look at.
All the guns used to be displayed on the wall of Mr. Davis's motel in town.

Frank Phillips Woolaroc for probably the finest collection of Colt single actions.
Plus they have a Gatlin gun  :o  and a ton of early Americana.

The Greater Southwest Historical Museum in Ardmore , Ok is another fine museum they have a sweet collection of military rifles.
And rest of the museum is hoot.

The Gene Autry museum in L.A. area is a nice one.  Lots of really nice guns of the "Cowboy" era.

I believe that one is the Autry Museum the Gene Autry Museum is at Gene Autry, Ok
It has the largest private collection of B western and singing cowboy on display in the United States.
They use to have a film and music festival every year but for health problems they quit have it several years ago.
The museum is still in operation in the old school house at Gene Autry and the Flying A ranch is still in operation. ;)

     I spent a couple days in Cody Wy. last yr. and would have enjoyed a couple more, we plan on taking in the Ok. museums some day as it is the next state over from us, just havent yet.   Jim

When I saw the title to this post.  Cody came to mind.  Its a great place to spend some time.  I have been there several times over the years.  Always seems to be bigger and better each time...

THE ONE IN CODY IS BY FAR THE BEST I HAVE SEEN I SPENT FOUR HOURS IN THERE WENT BACK THE NEXT DAY STILL DIDN'T SEE IT ALL.BUFFALO BILLS OLD STUFF IS REALLY NEAT SADDELS GUNS A LOT OF INDIAN STUFF. 8)

The Texas Ranger Museum in Waco, TX has a great collection of weapons used/owned by ranger past and present.  I was amazed at the number of gold and silver inlayed and engraved guns, especially the 1911s, that were everyday service guns for some Rangers.  Makes you wonder how they could afford such guns on a Rangers wages.
