Taurus: Make me a 45 Colt/ 45 ACP combo cylinder revolver...
« on: January 09, 2012, 03:46:25 PM »
I am pleased with my new Taurus Tracker model 992, chambered in 22LR/22Mag with switchable cylinders.  Now I want the same idea to be used for a 45 Colt/45 ACP revolver (make mine 4" barrel please).  The Tracker 44 mag frame, five shooter would be excellent and make the strength of the 45 Colt/45ACP the same as the 44 mag tracker.
That would be one of my favorite guns (if not the most favorite) to go along with my single action Ruger Blackhawk revolver in the same configuration.
Anyone would go for something like that?  What would be your choice?

I forgot something important.  NO gas compensator.  Some persons like that in a revolver but I am sure most of us don't like it.

Taurus used to make a .45 colt double action, but I don't remember the model.  Wouldn't take much since they make 9mm cylinders and 380 cylinders now to do the same with .45 acp.  Problem is, they'd start cutting into their Judge line-up...  I personally cannot stand the long cylinder.  I've been harrassin' Nick Ecker of Charter Arms for something like this too.  Watch Shot Show as I cannot seem to get a response now.  ;)

The full moon 45 acp clips for the 45 acp Trackers also fit the 45 Colts in that frame size. You just load clips and drop them in.No modification. I had thought about this too. Just have not been able to find one of the discontinued Trackers in 45 colt at a reasonable price.

I have the .45 ACP version and since it and the .45 Colt version use the same length cylinder it is easy to duplicate most .45 Colt loads in the .45 ACP cases by seating the bullets out. At least any loads that I would want to shoot out of such a light gun. I also have the .41 Magnum version and I wouldn't recommend full house loads in it either.

Well, unfortunately, I'm still getting nothing new from that source.  Still hoping...
