« on: January 12, 2012, 04:01:01 AM »
Been searching and reading here but cant find a real preference for either one,,, is one better made than the other? Or are they the same thing?

I have purchased Uncle Mike's hammer spur/extensions as aftermarket items, and I have hammer spur/extensions that came with the H&R guns.  The both look the same to me. I think they are the one and the same.
They  probably have a deal where Uncle Mike's agrees to supply the hammer extensions to H&R. This is similar to deals auto manufacturers have with parts suppliers.

My quandary, I personally, don't think I have enough Handi's but, I know I have more Handi's than I really need or should have.

I bought one that actually has double sides so it works for left or right shooters without turning it around. On the gun I have it on it does not effect hammer speed enough to cause failure to fires from being too heavy but on some guns I suppose the added weight could be an issue.
Otherwise mine all seem to be made from the same mold even though some came from the factory and some from the store shelf. But I like the style that comes from the factory better than the "T" one, but on the rifle I share with a left handed neice that rifle has the "T" hammer extention.  thejanitor

They're both made by Uncle Mike's, the model 2456-0.

I like the single side ones better than the double sided ones- had one of those double sided ones pop off once as i was pulling the rifle up into the tree stand.  the pull rope somehow curled around that T shape and popped it right off.  I found it much later...during spring turkey season!  Joe
