Sheesh Alaska Fish and Game ain't looking so good these days.
« on: January 12, 2012, 11:17:08 PM »
Last year or so was it that Denby Lloyd, Commissioner of Fish and Game was busted for drunk driving. Now our controversial Wildlife Director is busted on illegal hunting charges. And an intern is busted for felony thievery - glad he resigned already.  Add to that our senior senator's fishery advisor and a pal were busted for major commercial fisheries violations last spring! What is going on? ???

And the Board of Game will be taking public testimony on hunting and trapping regulations - tomorrow, Friday 13 I think??
Things are way too lively right now - the BOG stuff is hot enough with bear snaring, helicopter bear reductions up for discussion.
I tend to think its past time to get rid of Rossi anyway.

I liked Corry Rossi's ideas on predator control, but I did not like the man himself.  As some people would say, "He had the big head".  He came to our lunchions, but every time I went to talk to him, he would turn and walk away, ignoring me.  I was not an EX-Legislator, or major business owner, so I did not rate talking to him.

I did not like Demby Loyd from the start, many of my cohorts did not like him either.

Now so far I like Cora Campbell, the commissioner.  She is from the fish side of the house, but she has met with us and we have confidence in her.  The selection of Loyd and Rossi was made before she took office I do believe.

A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

Happened here in Virginia a couple of years ago. Took out the Director and his 2 top Law enforcement people. The agency is doing fine with out them.

OK, I've been privy to some info that has not been brought out.  One of his clients in the lower 48 was being investigated.  The investigators came looking to see if they could find anything on Corry to compliment their investigation.  The only thing they found was simply house keeping type issues.  It was like he had forgot to dot the i, and cross the Ts.  Accuzzations were made, and the media had a field day.  But they actually found nothing.  In the mean time the man's career has been destroyed.  No one will hire him here in Alaska, and his family is suffering.  Corry has moved to the lower 48 to find employment.

I may not have liked the guy personally, but what happened to him was undeserved.  No one should have the media destroy them like that.

I've met his replacement, he came to lunch last week.  Seems nice, says he will continue the same Predator Control plans Corry had started.
