Permission tohunt question
« on: January 13, 2012, 03:20:41 AM »
Does anyone know if a tenant farmer, someone who lives on and farms the property , can give someone permission to hunt the property?

I would think that it would be dependent on the agreement that they have with the owner of the property. Lease/agreements could be written up in different ways.

I would agree, each farm is likely different. The tenant is where I would start, unless of course I knew the owner. ;)  Simply because the tenant is the easiest to find generally speaking, and generally speaking is the one most likely to grant permission.

Generally the farming operation is a partnership at some level,  so it would never hurt to talk to both and it might well be a condition.
