frame comparisons

My question is does the G2 frame offer any additional strength and intigrity over the original frame when using heavier loads, as an example heavy 45/70 loads? Already own a half dozen barrels for my old style frame and don't want to make switch to encore.

TC rates them the same.  A couple aftermarket barrel folks make barrels for G2s in slightly hotter chamberings.  I go with TC.

Okay tnx folks looking at the two frames the G2 looks like a stronger frame. Was thinking of getting a second frame and was thinking G2 if it would handle heavier loads.

Since TC themselves state there is no difference in strength, what's the real point.
When the G2 first came out I got swept up I suppose, being a  huge fan of the 2 G1 frames I already had, I bought a G2. Afterward I recognized the stocks weren't interchangeable.  I know I've found this mildly inconvenient at times.

They are the same when it comes to barrels used. Same pressure. Only way to make sure you do not stretch a frame.
With that said the G2 is just a touch stronger. That be the reason that the muzzleloader barrels can only be shot on the G2 frame.
This does not mean that you can shoot hot loads like the 300 savage or factory 7.62x39 ammo. Be safe.
One reason T/C came out with the G2 was to change the parts so you can cock the hammer,let it down,then recock it without having to break the action open to reset. They also changed the grip angle which is the reason for the different wood needed.

You didn't get that from TC.  They say the G2 is less likely to get damage from the black powder residue from shooting the BP barrel.  The "wings" are cosmetic, to make the G2 look like the Encore's little brother.
