I see some are jumping up just as John King did last night. Not asking any real questions but making an accusation with a question.  John King got just what anybody who wants to take for gospel truth, the accusations of a bitter ex-wife should get !
There are 2 sides to any story, and it appears that those closest to Newt and his ex-wife are backing Newt's side.  Man, I would hate to be an innocent party and have some of you guys for a jury.  I could be the straightest cop who ever lived and you would take a crack dealers word that I had roughed him up !
In a typical, he said /she said like this, real men only deal with known facts and perponderance of evidence !
Now we know how OJ and Casey Anthony got away with it !

I take no issue with what you are conveying , however for me,  as I said  the issue is larger than just a fidelity issue -

This is a man who pursued the Impeachment of a President for his Affair all the while he was having one of his own.
To chastise another for the same acts you are committing while seeking the same level of office demonstrates to me
deeper character flaws and highest level of Hypocrisy.  I personally believe he is not a man to be trusted .

The impeachment of Clinton WAS NOT about the affair.  It was about Clinton LIEING under OATH.  That is purgery, and is illegal.  Gingrich ADMITTED to his mistakes, and says he asked God for forgiveness.  Bill Clinton DENIED it, and never ADMITTED he did anything wrong.  BIG difference.  Do I agree with Gingrich on everything, NO and I am voting for Ron Paul, BUT I will vote for Gingrich OVER Obama.  Any one of the remaining 4 would be MUCH better than Obama.  Obama is a socialist.  The first thing he did when he got in offices was to reward his cronies who contributed to his campaign and push a health care bill that NOONE wanted.  The first thing he should have done was deal with the jobs situation to jump start the economy by getting the government out of the way and NO bailouts for the banks, and corporations going bankrupt.  The Federal Reserve is the biggest problem with the economy and too much government control and manipulation.  Each party is guilty of manipulating the economy through tax breaks and writeoffs, raising and lowering taxes, trying to make it go in one direction or another, but Obama has been the WORST EVER.

Newt is not getting my vote, and it ain't because of a divorce. Speaking of ones character, I agree fully that ones character is very important when it comes to voting for someone, and I see Ron Paul as having the best character of the lot. In my opinion, by a long shot.
but, in last nights debate, santorum said RP only had a 50% rating on abortion votes and RP didn't have an answer.

I understand your concern on abortion bugeye. I also would never vote for someone that believes in killing unborn babies. I would caution you against believing everything Santorum says. Santorum is good at lying, and I believe he will say anything if he thinks it will get him votes. Its the reason I don't think he has good character either. Santorum is portraying himself to be a conservative, and from things he has done in the past indicates he is not. Him being the conservative that he says he is, is a lie in its self.
Paul says that if we abide by the Constitution the Federal government has no right to legalize or ban abortion. It is up to individual states, and he is exactly right. Paul believes in the right to life, and believes that life begins at conception. Here is a link that has Paul's stance on abortion.

You can't kill an unborn baby because there's no such thing.  You believe in small government, but you want morality regulated.  Go figure. ::)

You are pretty much alone in that belief swampman, so I'm not arguing that point with you. On the other point about me wanting morality regulated. You are wrong there also. Where in my post did I indicate that I expect government to regulate morality? Or did you just dream it up to pick an argument?
In the Declaration it states that no person shall be deprived of life, liberty, or property without due process of the law, and the 14th Amendment reiterates that. Since I believe that an unborn child is very much alive, and according to our Constitution, and God given rights, we shouldn't be killing them. Is that wanting morality regulated? If it is regulating morality, then so be it, because I know that God does not want us killing his children.

   Gotta disagree here Swampy;
I think the vast bulk of GBO members want smaller government...  But there isn't anything wrong with the govenment outlawing all murder.  It is a constitutional position, since our constitution says each person has a right to "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness"..
It's very elementary; If you kill anyone ..baby through aged adult, you are robbing them of .. their life, their liberty and their pursuit of happiness.

I agree but abortion doesn't meet that definition and cannot.  I believe in small government.  I don't support regulating morality.

Dear I.G. OB is a better vote than NG.  Right now the best the U.S. can do is Romney and I vote as my brain and hart tells me to, not a party  or TV adds. I am a reg Dem I regestered to vote in 1968 by mail while in the Air Force stationed in Ak. At that time there was no other choice than a Dem primary in My part of Fl since then I have voted for Rep . Dem. and Independets.  A person who will screw around on his or her mate will lie to anyone to get a vote AKA  Prez Clinton.

Voted for both Pres. Bushs, only history will tell if I did right. I wrote to Jeb when gov of Fla. and told him I wouldn't vote for him if he ran for dog catcher. That man was the most politcal pander I ever saw, a good friend was St Rep. at the time and I told him that if he voted with Jeb on the woman on life support I would not vote for him again. And I didn't.

Newt was married to Jackie Battley in 1962.  Jackie found out Newt was having an affair with Maryann and they got divorced in 1980.  Newt married Maryann Ginther in 1981.  Then Maryann found Newt was having an affair with Callistia Bisek in 1999, they got divorced.  Newt married Callista in 1980.

Well what did Maryann expect.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

Terri Schiavo...an interesting case..  I can understand the people who fought, screamed and demanded that she live, simply because we usually don't enjoy seeing any innocent person die.
..But I I find it more trying to understand why so many people fought, screamed and demanded that she be killed..why ?
It did take them 13 days without food or water, to finally die...   http://www.aish.com/ci/s/48910707.html

Since I am having truly difficult time understanding, will you help me ?
Why in God's name, were so many people so very eager.... to see Terri Schiavo die ?

I watched the debate Swampan,
Rather than address the reported allegation , he dodged and attacked the media.
He never cleared up anything.  The man has huge hypocrisy issues.
This guy is suppose to be part of the "family values" Party.

I think he is more of the Do as I say not as I do candidate.

The woman had been dead for years, the body just wouldn't die becouse of science. And this from a person who watched a good friend lay in a bed four years before God overcame science. Before He couldn't talk anymore He asked me for a pistol  more than one time. I wish now I had given him one.

Come on, let’s be honest.  If this was Obama wanting an open marriage everyone here would go ballistic over it.  Character does and should matter in a President, and just because I’d like to see someone other than Obama in the White House I’m not going to give a pass on it to a Republican.  Gingrich has enough baggage to soundly indicate that his character is lacking, maybe it’s just all my years in the military, but I demand more out of leaders if they want my support.  Gingrich has some good ideas, and might still play an important role in US politics in some other role, but he isn’t someone I could support for the top seat.
