Ruger 204 or 17hmr
« on: January 21, 2012, 11:56:00 AM »
Local gun shop has a couple of Contender blued 23" Contender barrels on closeout for $150, they only have 17hmr and Ruger 204, since I have been away from shooting for a while was wondering what you would recommend for coyotes?

The 204 is concidered a fine coyote round, the hummer will work most of the time at closer range. Do you want to use a round that may work? Or one that will?

+2 at that price get them both. Iffen you can only afford 1 then the 204 would be my choice if you reload. If you don't reload get the 17. The 17 will kill any yote within 100 yards with proper shot placement.

Definite on getting both calibers!

Use the .204 on the 'otes and then the .17 hmr on the critters that 'ote "used" to take care of ..........
