Booked A Buffalo Bowhunt
« on: January 20, 2004, 04:32:26 AM »
I will be going end of March on a cull hunt-I will use a 60# compound, 2216 Aluminum arrows & 3 blade 125gr. Rocky Mountain Ironheads (fixed blades).  Anyone out there done this b/4?  If so, what did you use?
Should be very interesting..
always thankful

I got back & it was a very fun trip.  It all came together late afternoon of the 2nd day of my 4 day Bowhunt.  if it had not, I would have been taking the 3rd morning off to recoup as I was so sore & stiff from crawling, running, stalking & ambushing only to have them bust us or change directions b/4 getting within Bow Range.  Finally, set up on the crest of a hill, as the 1st group topped & passed at 70 yards  out of range but headed for my buddy 150 yards away, a 2nd  group of 20 or so were from 40 to 60 yards out.  The 2nd Buffalo in the group grazed broadside at 40 yards as I sent a Rocky Mountain 3 Blade Ironhead.  The arrow was a complete pass thru & the estimated 900# Cow went only a short distance b/4 going down.  Almost at the time my Buffalo went down the 1st group was within range of my buddy & he put an arrow thru a fine Bull at 44 yards.  His Bull only went a few yards b/4 dropping.  It was a great hunt & a fine time sharing the experience with close friends.  Good luck to all in 2004.
