       Knoxville, Tennessee is at the junction of Interstates 40 and 75. Motorists travelling from New York to Atlanta or the Gulf Coast would pass through Knoxville as the most direct route. But New Yorkers are advised to be very, very careful to observe the speed limit when passing through Knoxville and the great State of Tennessee. The Tennessee General Assembly has stated, in HJR085,
 

. . . we remind the citizens of New York, especially those residing in New York City, to drive carefully through the great State of Tennessee, paying extra attention to our speed limits.

What has caused this unusual turn of events? An innocent Tennessee woman, Meredith Graves, dared to enter New York City with a handgun in her purse. When she went to the World Trade Center Memorial and saw a "No Guns" sign, she asked where she could check her gun. That landed her in the slammer facing a New York felony gun posession charge.

   That sounds like NY to me. Still haven't figure out why i have stayed in this lousy state for 57 of my 65 years.

I feel like that about ILL. The only state that still denies the people the right to carry and defend themselves. I write gov quinn every once in a while. When I go to Ill, after getting safely home I send him a note letting him know that upon entering his state that I disarmed myself to help him protect the BGs. POWDERMAN.

  I can understand the distress of the folks in Tennessee, but I hope they don't take it out on all us from NY State..them guys down there in NY City are a "different breed of cat".
   Main problem being NY State doesn't recognize other state's CC permits..I can go just south and get a PA permit and carry in many states.

You think that's a problem? I hope your aware that NYC doesn't recognize carry permits from any other county in NYS, without a NYC amendment.

  That's right..down there in liberal haven my CC is not usable... The crooks and gangbangers there all have guns, they just don't want honest people to have them...more "Liberal logic"..
