DD ...., Hi Boss ! I have not forgotten my roots. A big hello to everyone. Finally it is time to start my build. I shipped these back in 05 or 06 I cannot remember. Anyway the resort build is going a faster now and I can now start. I have a Tugas supplier in the mountain cutting my stock now. Tugas is a Philippine hard wood which is happy to live out doors. I believe my wheels I bought in Texas are a bit to big. I bought 10" and should have gotten 8" for the rear. I got what I got tho and need to use them. My internet out here in the jungle is a USB chip with a Cell phone type SIM card so pics will be few not too often but will come.

Good to hear from you, Tropico. You still hold the prize for the best 4th of July Party movie clip that I ever have seen, with cannons no less! Your quote above sounds like this tube is going to grace a 4 truck naval carriage. Is this correct? Is the bore of that 2/3 scale cannon a 2"? Can't wait to see it mounted. Please keep us informed. Tim ! Mike and Tracy ! Rock and BOOM ! Nice to catch you here once again. All of my adventures ., oO0Oo thats a long tale . The manor is finished ., the main sea wall and land fill is in ., the two forward breakers are almost done. Complete within the next 2 weeks and Restaurant/Bar construction begins mid February. When finished we can begin the 3 motel rooms and scuba shop ....., All in a piratic nature! . 1 big problem however I need barrels ., wooden egs ., lots of them. Full size 13 to be exact. Cant find them any where . Tho I havent given up on it yet . I need them for decor and a few to mount 2 of my swivels Wes built. Oh yes and my crippled old arse finally achieved DiveMaster . Feb 3 I go back to my friends at Neptune Diving Adventure to do my AI Assistant Instructor ., Sigh all before I come back stateside to get fusion c1-c2 and c3. Anyway I am not going to be stopped merely for having physical problems ., why should I grow up now? I took an image of the Hern into paintshop and did my sketch with 10" wheels (Scaled at 2"=1ft) and here is what I came up with for the carriages .

More later men ......, Keep firing !!! Oh almost forgot front axel is a bit lower to raise the front of gun.

WOW Zulu ! Yes ...., I do need 13 of those actually. Rusty floods all around but tropico is a fortress really with heavy construction and protection . Neighborhood devastated ., but not here. Beginning to live the dream DD. Mike Tracy ., the bore is 2.25 on these. Zulu those carriages are awesome ., I hope to achieve such fine work. they do have a smaller wheel out back., however I have not seen a cross beam that is gapped above a front axle before? And of course I know they are curling DD spine and making him grit his teeth as they are not painted. I will use a red paint (Very American). Probably the SCUBA boat will be Black and White to boot ! Americans couldn't have picked more piratey colors ! At least thats what the English thought we were ., Bloody Pirates !

Looking forward to starting the truck ., in all fairness I must confess I am looking forward to taking my class as well tho. (Rickk That set up is not for your lawn mower ..., you built that for the local lawn mower race track!) I made a few subtle changes to my trucks profile. I think this is it.

before you spend good money on some sort of industrial refrigeration unit for keeping your booze cold, ask me about how I replaced the lame 600 BTU refrigeration unit that was in that chest freezer with a 10 minute modification $150 dollar 6,000 BTU window A/C unit that chills beer to 40 F in 100+ degree days.

YES ! ! ! I am definitely interested in the cold beer project !
Here are a few pics of where my build is at so far. The carriage is not something of authentic origins. Its just something I dreamed up. I am using stainless axles and wheels that have zirk fittings . They will sit on a sea wall and may need moved around from time to time. No power tools used here ., hand drill and chisels.., and a crosscut saw..., no Tugas ., The only wood I could get was Mahogany . Anyway here is what I have so far.

Good looking carraiges.... as to the wheels you could order four 8" and two more tubes later to increase your battery to four....

Kabar2 the website hasnt changed much for a while and lots of changes have happened. I am not good with website building and my brother hasnt repaired the site ., the gallery is down? I need to motivate him somehow. 8 more 8" wheels sounds like fun ! but it cant happen. I wish it could but the current collection will have to work.

O.K. after years of Double D's mentoring on carriages ., I think I finally got it. These photos go out to the Boss. First carriages I've built using paint. Nothing special here but a work in progress . 1 first coat 1 to go. Here goes.

If anyone is interested in this resort build ., Tropico. This is a small family owned SCUBA diving resort with a pirate theme. Allthough the cannons are not correct to the era ., they were the biggest longest gun I could afford to ship ., so I chose these. Wes ., Powder Kegs 6 pack he built for me are also here at the resort. Soon they will be displayed also. As far as cannons go ., Wes's guns are my prized possessions actually. Anyway there are lots of fotos of the build of sea walls. and building construction as well as fotos of the mini manor. I hope to be finished pretty soon. I like the way your carriage looks painted red (black wheels). Someday I plan to put paint on a carriage too, just to see what kind of reaction it gets from Douglas. This could be dangerous though, he might start to think that he's hallucinating, or at the very least, that I was trying to con him with a photoshopped picture.

Painted carriages look so good, a cannoner would be proud...those varthaned raw wood carriages look nice also, they would make any home decorator smile.

Tropico nice biuld so far were in the philipines are you i get to Butuan and bayugan now and then see the wife family see few cannons rusting away aroudn the islands in my travels hopeing prices come back down on air fare so the wife and i can go next year and visit her family would make a nice trip meet up with afellow cannoneer

Tropico is located ., 20 klicks north of Dumaguete City ., Negros Oriental. I love it here.
