« on: January 26, 2012, 03:04:29 AM »
Havent seen my old 7tcu in years. Been in a sock buried in dresser......
just for Fun took outside and popped off a pockett full of ammo.....
i just love the 7mmTCU.....only thing better? Maybe the 6.5 TCU ..maybe?
Truth is. :.:. Ive got 3 TCU. 7mm barrels. Sent one of the super 14s off to MGM
cutting her down to 11 1/4 inches..... graybeard sold me a ten inchrr many years ago..
always wanted/wished it would have been an inch longer ...well see?  How itll ballance out..
i guess im strange.  After bills cut down ten in barrel.the factory tappered barrels dont look right..

I gotta agree on the cut-down S-14 barrel....man they're sweet!  I cut/crowned a 357Herrett S-14 to 10".  You get a "true" bull barrel with double forend bosses.  I put on the Pachy adapter and forend to give it a little more heft that makes it hold good and helps on recoil.
BTW  Good to hear you around again thar' 'weet!

I've wondered a few times whatever happened to that old 10" 7 TCU barrel of mine. I sold it once locally many years ago and then at a gun show I ran across it again. I had let the guy have the loaded ammo I had at the time. When I bought it back from him he had the empty cases so I assume all he did was fire the ammo and then put it back up for sale.

I bought it again and shot it for a good while before eventually selling it again via the classifieds here. I had forgotten tho who I had sold it too. That's a good barrel and I shot some really nice groups with it and killed two deer with it.

I had a 10 inch 7TCU and traded it off for a 10 inch 22. Still have the 14 inch 7TCU which was the first barrel I ever bought back in 1978 and now a 15 inch Encore in 7TCU. I wanted another Encore frame and found a good deal on a complete gun. The plan was to sell the barrel and scope until the son shot it. After he shot it 5 times he said hay Dad can I hunt with this?

While loading RCBS 168 gr SP bullets for my 10" 7mmTCU this morning, the thought struck me that I've "played" with my circa 1978 T-C Contender and its two 7mmTCU barrels more than any other firearm I've ever owned.  I own four molds for 7mmTCU, and I bet I have 20 to 30 boxes and partial boxes of various jacketed bullets for the two barrels.  It's a joy to reload and shoot the 7mmTCU.  If Lee would only make a 165 to 170 gr SP mold for 7mm, my joy would be complete.  I don't like iron molds.

Honestly...ive had over 50 barrels at one time and two contender frames.
of all the calibers ive owned the 218 bee and the 7tcu will probly die with me.

I bought a 7mm TCU 14" super here on this forum, my first in this caliber and I like it!!!

I also thought about an extension so I could run it as a carbine.

I was very taken by Junior's articles on his web site on the 7mm TCU, very good work!!

Viva the 7mm TCU!!
