In looking at pre-64 Win Mod 70s online, it appears that some have a straight stock and some have a raised cheekpiece. I don't see any consistency of these features that turns on whether the rifles were pre-war or post-war, full length or carbine, or standard weight or featherweight.
What is the story here? Was the raised cheekpiece just an optional feature? Was it only offered on magnum calibers? Or what?
Thanks for all info.
