Best scope mount for an 1894S 44 mag?
« on: January 28, 2012, 08:51:53 AM »
I have a Marlin 1894S, 44 caliber, lever action rifle.  What is the best set of rings and base for this model?  Does anyone make a set where the base and bottom half of the rings is all one piece?  Thanks in advance for your reply.

I prefer my levers with peeps...

If I had to scope one I would keep it as slim, trim and light as possible. A scope simply because I could not see the sites... Like a small fixed 2 or 3X max.

DedNutz makes a mount as your describing..

Something else to consider is a scout setup... This utilizes either a "scope" scope or a 1 to a 3x pistol scope mounted in front of the receiver. This allows you to shoot with both eyes open. Quite fast and very slick.

The Weaver quad-lock medium rings keeps the scope low and the work great, I use them on all my Marlin levers.

The best scope mount for a Marlin 1894 44 mag is a Williams Foolproof Reciever Sight.  If you have trouble with your eyes, go to a smaller hole in the apature.

You can only hit the target if the barrel is pointed in the right direction when the bullet leaves the barrel.
