first off why? the  most  taught and best way in most proffesional trainers  will teach you is to go over the top of the slide and release it that way the more meat you have on the gun the better off you are under stress it is simple and fast and easy for lefties as well, reach over the top of the gun like you looking at your watch and one sharp pull release the slide foward  while keeping a firing grip on the gun with the gun  toward your target

I dont even bother with Hitting the Slide Stop... Read the manuals of most guns its to stop the slide open.

I just grab and pull the slide back enough to release it on freash mag.. that is what most gun manfactures want you to do.

I don't use the slide release either.  I believe that racking the slide (all the way back) is a more reliable way to chamber the first round as the the full energy of the recoil spring is used to drive the round into the chamber.
