First of all , What this thread is not is a oh whoa is me, oh poor poor me post.
Crap happens. What this thread is - Is a what would you do if you were placed in the following situation?
My Job has been outsourced overseas, Layoffs coming any day now. This is a given .
There is a chance I could stay on a few more months if I would be willing to train my replacements.
I can't stop the outsourcing , but I'm thinking of telling them no thank you and sign me up for the first wave of layoffs.
From my perspective being "allowed to stay a few extra months" doesn't mean spit in the greater scheme of life. Whats a few extra months worth of pay when it come to my integrity and dignity.
I guess I am prejudice in a sense but asking me to document 25 years of experience and train overseas replacements who are going to take away American Jobs just so the company I work for can save a few bucks in labor costs doesn't sit well with me ?
What's your thoughts ? am I wrong ? what would you do?
