Wolves
« on: January 31, 2012, 08:08:03 AM »
My wife and I were headed down state yesterday from Iron Mtn.  Just about 10 miles west of Manistique something ran across the hwy in front of us, stopped facing the hwy about 15' off of the pvt edge.  Grey and white wolf.  Just stood there as calm as you please kinda bouncing up and down on its front legs.  I told my wife "I bet there is another wolf coming".  Got down the hwy a bit and looked in my rearview mirror.  Sure enough here came another and they ran off into the pines.

I have not seen one for several years.  I'm glad people in Michigan can now kill em if they are killing livestock or pets.  We finally have more rights than the wolves.

I heard the DNR is finally taking them off the endangered list.  Hopefully, there will be some judicious seasons set up too.  ;)

The best thing wolves are good for, besides shooting practice, is roping practice.
They make purdy fur coats too!

buddy saw two on the side of the road between ishpeming and champion the other day. Said one had a colar on it and was huge. the other was much smaller and looked a bit mangy. It was right in one of the bigger deer yards in the area.

They have been protected species for as long as I can remember.  hehe  Logic isn't always good with our government though...  ;)
