That is very very very fast. The pro driver reached a top speed of 267 MPH!!! All I can say is wow. I don't watch NASCAR but I think they only run speeds of 225MPH or so. Like I said I don't watch it so I could be wrong on that. Dale

Yikes... a gazillion dollars and 258mph.


But it's not all that practical, and it's ugly... I'll take a Mustang in any flavor, but a GT500 would be the ticket...

Naw, I've done that, at least a couple motorcycle generations ago. Well, several; I got stuck on an 83 GS1100E and kept it forever.


A couple years ago I drove a friend's Vette; it was a six-speed, with the LS2 motor. It was an eye-opening drive - the Vette wasn't far off in performance from a liter  bike, and once rolling seemed better. Amazing how well modern cars perform.

  I watched them build the Bugatti's on "ultimate factories" the other day, VERY good show in quite a bit of detail of how they are built.  They said the puter limits them to 253mph but they will go a bit faster than that.  Every car is run to 253mph (by GPS reading) before it's sold, tested on their own 60 mile track with a 5 mi. straight. (they had a camera in the car as they tested it)  Also said, as full power it gets 3mpg... 
 
  Tires are expected to last 6,000 miles and it cost $16,000.00 to replace them.
 
  I'm still saveing up to buy the "first" one!  lol

Not in the same league as the Bugatti or Shelby (but they were for their time) here is my fastest dream car
 '66 389 tri-power GTO . this would be fast enough for me.
