How many of you guys ,actually trap for fur bearing animals? (not ADC)

Fur mostly here, ADC only around the farm.

Fur , ADC during summer. But this wkend doing fur and ADC combined on bvr.

Pretty much trap for fur, but have done a few animal removal jobs when ask.

Total percent of catches for fur is about 98% total value from fur is about 99.9. The only ADC I do is for farms that let me trap and I typically do that as a courtesy for the privelege. I have one guy who gives me a " poor trapper's stipened" each year. LOL He is quite generous but it is only one person

ive always just traped fur cept once in ohio i caught 11 coon out from a guys mobile home in ohio they really done some damage it was two sows with litters

[/quot The fur quality in the south is not as good as that of the snow country critter ,plus there hasnt been a fur buyer in these parts in 30 years .As a hunter /landowner I trap to keep beaver from flooding timber. coyotes & fox to take the pressure off the fawns & turkey nests .

Bammer, I took some pretty good looking fur ,when I trapped in the delta country of Missippi.
Got fair prices on it too,by shipping to NAFA.
You might want to consider shipping the fur you take.

I do believe southern otter prices are doing well--just not like a few years ago.
Seems the darker otter are once again bringing a bit more than light colored southern otter.

I trap both for the fur and to be outdoors. Also I am trying to bring back the tradition. My dad and great-grand uncles were big fur men back in the day. I have stared at pictures of the barn covered with furs since I was a kid, and that has been a while ago.

Perhaps I am living in a dream world, but I look at them and think, someday, I will have a picture like that of me.

This country was largely settled on the backs of fur men.

To me, trapping is much more than a fur check, or helping someone get rid of a beaver. I thoroughly enjoy each aspect of it. I love being in the woods, the animals, all of it. In this fast pace world it is my escape. Just me, some traps, and peace and quiet. I'm a little different than most, in the sense that. I enjoy making sets as much as I enjoy pulling an animal out of one. I trap for the same reason I bow hunt. There are different thrills with each one, but a lot of similarities. There is almost no bad excuse for me to be in the woods. That being said, I'm not a big fan of snakes. For this reason I do not like summer water trapping.
