beaver sets?

how do you set up for beaver when there is not enought ice to walk on, but too much for a castor mound set? wait till iceout? this crazy weather is driving me nuts! i got a pond that has beaver in it the owner wants them gone,but i can't get at them.

Put yr waders or hip boots on and grab ice chisel and carefully open up area you want to set and make  underwater pen sets or baited  body grips.... you got to want to do it.... do it safely though.   Good Luck

If the weather  is going to stay above freezing,I will break open an area and put in castor mound sets.Even if it stays open for a couple hours after sundown, it can be well worth the effort.

water is too deep off the bank,straight down. i'm on the deep side of the pond.  will set up some castor mounds this weekend, will have to break up some ice,but it is going fast!

they got a bank den behind that brush,there feed pile is right on top of it.need a canoe to set it.
btw this is a picture i took when i scouted this in november,wish it was like that now!

still nothing from this pond.it freezes up just enought to keep my castor mound set inoperarable,but not enought ice to walk on!.tried a baited coni in about 3 feet of water,but nothing.might try a ear of corn on the trigger instead od pvc pipe.

finally got one. went 60 lbs on my scale.finally figured out how to set up snares also!
