Remington 410 2 1/2 inch at Walmart

I stopped by Walmart on my way home today and happened by the ammo and saw Remington 410 2 1/2 inch 6 shot for $9.57 a box thought it was an alright price and snagged two boxes upon hoppin in the truck i took one of the boxes out of the bag and noticed it said in the bottom corner 20 shotshell cartridges....I've never seen a box of 20 and now it makes it seem as though thats not a very good deal considering the winchester in the same size in a box of 25 is only $1.50 more for five more shells the problem being that the 410,s were on the bottom of the case with half the box covered. Anyone else get this little surprise from Walmart?

I just bought two boxes of Winchester AA - .410 - 2 1/2" #8 shot for $9.97 from Walmart.   You had me running to my closet to check.   My boxes say 25 shells.

I ran across a close-out price for Winchester 3 - 1 - 6 in 12 gauge for $4.98 at Walmart about two weeks ago.  With a 5 Lb 6.5 oz 12 ga I am always looking for 1 oz loads to keep the kick down a bit.  They do great on squirrels and that is for 25 to the box.  Thought later I should have picked up a coupla more boxes but the next time I was there they weren't.

I have seen this before. Dicks too has these it's a gimic a trick planning on everyone assuming its a box of 25.  I feel it's underhanded and makes me avoid purchasing ANY from that manufacturer.

Good reason to start reloading!!!!

Yeah, underhanded trick, right up there with putting 14 oz of 700x in a 1 pound can. :o

Remington's idea of a promotion...Noticed it several years ago and would calculate the per shell price against the 25 shell per box...sometimes bought 'em sometimes didn't...
A coupla years ago, there was thirteen boxe's of .410 shells advertized on a local forum for the princely sum of 75$..Now people replied, what size, what brand, what shot :o , I replied I'll take 'em ;D ...
  Met the fella and they were 3" Remingtons mostly 6's, a coupla boxes of 4's..Whipped out the seventy five dollars and handed them to the fella, he handed 5$ back, said" the thirteenth box ain't full". ;D 12 full boxe's plus 15 shells fer 70$, now that's a "Gonga".. :)

Its just a sad marketing scheme and it isn't doing them any favors. I only shoot a 410 at grouse and a rabbit if i cross it so it should last me a few seasons. Live and learn I guess.

Yeah,they've been doing that for several years,locally. A trick from grocery makers also,smaller quantities.Look out for mail orders on Hevi-shot,turkey loads,waterfowl & buckshot too. Quantities are usually listed. Ha! Check out the bulk rimfire in 333 and 555 packs.I quess they think folks are dumb.

I saw these at walmart friday so I grabbed a box. read this post today ,got up cheched the box and it is a 20 round box. burst my bubble.

You can always take them back an exchange for the winchester's dannyfro. Winchester ammo is all we shoot outta our .410's. scout4

Sadly Walmart has an all sales final on ammunition policy that keeps me from doing that.
