The 17M2 is out of production, so the price can get quite high, depends on how bad someone wants one, but they sold for $130 new, $160 when they were discontinued, current price on a new 17hmr is ~$185-$190.

Don't let those .17 Mach2's get away kaveman, they are few and far between, and they are probably the most accurate small caliber rifles ever made by H&R/NEF....<><....:)

cw & MSP - A little off subject, but is 17M2 ammo still fairly easy to buy?  I haven't seen any in shops by me in quite a while.

I have not had difficulty finding it... BUT for the past year or so I buy two boxes every time I am in a store that sells it... There was rumors about its becoming obsolete, I can see that coming and want to have ammo!!

Just last week BOTH my local shop AND cabela's where out!! At least they where once I left. ::) I saw only 6-8 boxes on the shelf and took them all! NO I DO NOT HAVE A AMMO PROBLEM!  ::)  What I do have is ammo to feed my 17M2!  :o ::) ;)

I don't recall exactly what I ended up paying for my last 2 bricks of .17Mach2 but it was a GREAT deal. I actually bought 2+ bricks at a Dicks Sporting Goods store in Plymouth, MA. I was just poking around in the sporting goods section and I noticed they had it on an unannounced sale for CHEAP!! IIRC it was $2.96 per box of 50 rounds. I bought a couple of full bricks and all of the loose boxes they had, everything they had in stock. When I got to the register they gave me another % off my total purchase!!
I don't have any problems locating .17 Mach2 ammo here in New England, it seems I can always get it when I want it, but like CW, I buy it whenever I see it on sale.
IF in the future they discontinue .17 Mach2 ammo your gun could always be reamed out to .17 HMR. That caliber will not be going away for sure.
You would also have the option of having the barrel rechambered to one of the .17 caliber centerfire cartridges....<><.... :)

Stopped by the pawn shop today they were asking 200.00 each both NIB I will watch them a little longer needing to pay other gun bills first. I dont know if store does transfers but will certainly ask if somebody here is interested.

I know $400 is a lot to lay out these days but when you get some cash try for a package deal, perhaps $300-$350 for both, out the door. Perhaps with something to sweeten the pot, some ammo (even of a different caliber), a couple of rifle cases, a scope or mounts, anything of value you can use. Good luck....<><.... :)

P.S. - I'd try putting down $300 in front of them for both and see what they would do.
