I guess I like the J frame because not all my would be attackers are animals . Where I go snakes live and I have dispatched more of them than any other bad guys. I find CCI or hand loaded snake shot loads a good asset. I have tried the loads in a 40 S&W , 9mm and 45 acp none cycle the action but with a revolver its a shot every pull of the trigger as long as ammo last.
If ya can see it ya can hit it !

That S&W 340 PD is an OUTSTANDING revolver. I have it's big brother the 329 PD .44 Mag. It isn't for the faint of heart, but man it shoots.

The problem with both are they are not CHEAP. I sold one 340 PD and can't get another one form my suppliers for a while now. The 329 PD is almost always around a grand or more new. Latest price on S&W .38 spl bodyguard with laser sight is about $489 out the door. Great bang for the buck.

I carried a Bersa Thunder .380 for about three years, but I just recently switched to a Taurus 856 .38. There wasn't really anything wrong with the Bersa, I wanted a .38 because I reload and got sick of crawling around on the floor picking up brass everytime  I went to the range.
I've been known to pack a Kel-Tec .380 as well, and occasionally my Taurus 65 in .357. I don't carry the .357 much though, it's too big for me to conceal easily.

I recently purchased another Interarms/Walther PPK in .380 looks NIB. Must be what I'd choose?
