Encore rifle barrel 300 Win Mag or .338 Win Mag

Any of you that have shot them or both of them. I was thinking the .300 have more loading options than the .338. Max shot on deer, bear, moose would be around 500 yards.

This illustrates my thought on the 300 Win. Mag.  I think it would shoot a bit flatter to 500 yards than would a 338 Win. Mag. but I've never shot a 338 Win. Mag.

That is some dam good shooting there. You shooting a Blue or Stainless Steel barrel? How is the .300 recoil in the Encore? In a Ruger it don't seem bad, but the Encore is shorter rifle. Also you have any troubles with the belt hanging up on the ejector.

Thanks a bunch.

1.  It's a stainless steel barrel.

2.  The recoil doesn't seem too bad to me.  In the Encore, I'd say worse than a 30/06 but not as bad as with the muzzle loader barrel or 12 gauge shotgun barrel.  You need a scope with good eye relief though as the design of the buttstock lends itself to significant scope bites.

3.  If you try to push a belted cartridge straight in to an Encore, the belt will hang up on the ejector.  If you turn the cartridge a little clockwise when the belt contacts the ejector, the cartridge will go right in.
