range time
« on: February 04, 2012, 10:44:58 AM »
So went out and did the spring(almost) sight checking. 22s 22mags and the 357 Handi.
So far I've only shot 38spcls out of it, can't use 357 for deer here so I might not ever try them.
It's my turkey/small game/truck gun. I haven't chrony'd it (scared if it won't shoot a 180gr @ 3000+fps
it won't kill anything right?) but those 125gr Rainiers shoot golf ball size groups at 50yds w/open sites
and a 8" gong at 100yds is a sure thing. I have other handis 223, 243, 270 but the 357 is my favorite by far.
Just wish I could hunt deer with it. :'(  I will never understand how they decide whats legal even a 45LC is
iffy here the way the law is written.  The best thing is I got it for $100 because it didn't shoot.

Wow, figured a state like Wyoming would allow any kind of rifle...  Not too familiar with that area though.  I like .45 Colt but you can also use .45 Schofield, which is like a .45 Colt Short.  hehe  With a modern powder like H110 in a handi package, you should be able to get usable deer power out of it.  ;)   Great deal on the gun though.  I could live with those groups with irons.  ;)
