Should our foreign policy be one of interventionism?
« on: February 07, 2012, 05:54:20 AM »
Unending unconstitutional wars overseas, with all the suffering and death that demands, trillions of dollars borrowed and wasted?
For what?
What good came from our invasion of Iraq? How's that Afghanistan adventure working out?

How about our destruction of Libya? Nice place to live now, right?

People just love us for invading and destroying their countries. It's all just flowers in the streets.

Shouldn't we put America's interests first, pay off our debts and build our own nation, defend our own borders?

I've always said that iraq and afganistan should have been left to CIA and mossad assassins.
cheaper that way.

Re: Should our foreign policy be one of interventionism?

Why certainly!!!!!!!!! We are SO MUCH safer now, and have SO MANY more friends around the world, along with SO MANY fewer incursions on our personal freedoms because of interventionalist policies!!!!!!!! ::)

Haven't you heard? There's a new boogie man in town named Iran. He's gonna get us. We need to keep the war machine turning you know! What's another trillion borrowed from China anyway?

Wouldn't it be easier and cheaper to have the Chinese print the money?

The only intervention we should have with foreign sovreignty IMO, is to help out with humanitarian efforts in case of natural disasters. Other than that they can make it or break it on their own. American consumption should come from American production. Bring our jobs and military home. Attack all enemies bent on war regardless of distance. Mexico has had armed military, escort drugs into our nation, THAT is an act of war when a hostile military force violates a nations sovereignty. We don't have to be tyrants, nor do we have to be anybody's patsy.

That's a good way to put it.  As of now we are both tyrants and patsy's at the same time. When it's time for war, destroy it all, turn it to dust, or don't go there...period.   If we had that attitude there would be less wars all around.
