T&C Impact
« on: February 07, 2012, 08:50:27 AM »
A buddy o mine not familair to these forums has asked me to find out what experiences people have here with the TC impact. I have a knight KRB7 so I have no opinion for him except to go with the omega as it is the only ML from TC I have experience with By the way, I love my knight krb7. anyway, if you have experience with this rifle, please share.

I bought one for one of my boys for Christmas, the blue with camo stock.  I have been somewhat impressed with it, especially for the price.  Some complain that the length of pull is a little short but I find it just fine.  The fit and finish of ours is perfect and it shoots better than my encore ever could and every bit as good as either of my Knight Discs.  The latch for the breech is a little different but when you get used to it is convenient for both right and left hand shooters.  It is handier to tote around than my knights and considering that it shoots as well I am thinking about buying one for myself.  The only thing that I consider a negative so far, and it probably isn't really that negative, is the latch for the breech is made of plastic.  It would probably never fail but if it did there is a lifetime warrantly so it would be fixed.  Long story short I highly recommend it.  It is a nice entry level muzzleloader and made in the USA.

Thanks rfletcher, I'll pass it on. Did you mount a scope to it? I am moving to the kansas city area and I think missouri and kansas both allow scopes so I will definitlly be mounting one to my knight. Any suggestions on scope choices for ML's?

It has a 3x9x32 Cabelas Pineridge we bought when they were closing them out.  It is not the highest priced scope but it was on his old rifle for a year and has been on this one for another season with no problem.  I would recommend using quick release rings to remove the scope while cleaning the barrel.

I don't think you can go wrong with the Impact.  I bought one for my son and he loves it and I do to.  It shoots just as good and handles as good as my Encore.

A friend of mine has one and she loves it. It's a good shooter. I've seen some tight groups with that gun. If its in your price range I'd say go for it.

I just bought one after season this year so it hasn't seen the field yet but I'm quite impressed from the bench.  I've run about 60 rounds through it working up a load and it is a tack driver.  It's the low end of the TC line with some plastic on it but it seems to be very well built.  For a $200 gun I don't think you'll beat it.
