9/11, who dun it?

I have always been neutral on this. I have no way of ascertaining the facts. This ex-BYU physics professor has an interesting case:

The sole purpose of government is to protect your liberty. The Constitution is not to restrict the people, but to restrict government.  Ron Paul

The two enemies of the people are criminals and government, so let us tie the second down with the chains of the constitution so the second will not become the legalized version of the first. - Thomas Jefferson

I have my doubts too. The biggest red flag for me is the plane that hit the Pentagon. Why? if Al Qaeda really wanted to hurt us then why not hit the Capitol Building or the White House? Why hit the Pentagon? The only answer I can come up with is because there is no one really "important" working there

I have never seen that WTC 7 footage until today.

No one important at he pentagon? Not sure I buy this.

But most of the actions that our military takes against these people were planned out, implimented, and carried out through the pentagon. Good enough reason for me to have it targeted. Most military actions against other countries, all target the military first.

If you discount the the official explanation of why 3 skyscrapers freefall symetrically collapsed shortly after asymetrical random damage, except one 47 story building wasn't hit by an airliner at all, and discount the fact that no arab names were on the flight passenger list (originally).  And  when you consider the logistics or possibility of getting 19 drinking, carousing around, westernized arabs committing suicide all in one day that seems pretty remote. So anyway if you discount the 19 arab hyjacker theory,  there is only a handfull of countries that could pull off such and attack and tie NORAD's shoelaces together. Luckily FEMA was there that day practicing for such an eventuality!...  Subsequent to 911 was the anthrax attacks on US Senators considering the constitutionality of the infamous Patriot Act....this anthrax material was determined to be US military grade material originating from Ft Deitrick, Maryland if I recall. Too many anamolies and coincidences to consider here, but do the research__most people don't buy the Official story line lock, stock and barrel.  Certainly, moslem countries did not benefit from this attack one iota....quite the opposite____and hard to figure what was in it for them, if anything at all. Anyway, Truth fears no Investigation.

I am not going to argue. I have my doubts. I am not 100% convinced one way or the other...but it doesnt take very big leap of imagination to say that our government wouldnt cook up something like this or conspire with others in order to justify the need to curb our rights.

The 9/11 conspiracy movement is a belief system in vain search of proof.  They claim that what happened on 9/11 is too fantastic and unbelievable to be true, so in its place they’ve created an infinitely more complex and fantastic series of disjointed and mutually exclusive alternate possibilities as the “truth”.

If any 9/11 “thruther” was honest they’d have to admit that they believed in some form of shadowy world conspiracy long before 9/11, the events of 9/11 just became the seminal moment in their lifetime to reinvent in line with their beliefs.  9/11 is basically an ink blot test for conspiracy theorists; on it they can paint or interpret reality as they see it.  9/11 becomes the responsibility of the Jews, the Illuminati, the military industrial complex, the NWO (whatever that really entails), UFOs, etc.  So far I haven’t seen Elvis or Bigfoot blamed for 9/11, but given enough time they will become co-conspirators.  One of my personal favorites is this one:

Posting a conspiracy theory fan boy site as your defense, how fitting.  How about finding some peer reviewed evidence to support the 9/11 truther claims?

Majority, of what, mental hospitals?  The people that believe this 9/11 truther nonsense are the smallest of fringe groups.

Tm7, I respect your beliefs and I feel that you articulate your case much better than those who disagree. I cannot say for sure what actually happened, but I grew up in a vicious food chain called Los Angeles and as a Navy vet I've been around the world and back enough times to know when I'm being fed a pack of lies.

One has to tread very lightly when presenting anything that may stir the waters of what are peoples fragile little worlds. Some people hold on to their "belief infrastructure" so tightly because to venture out into anything else is a truly frightening thing.

People do not like to have hard truth shoved in their face or even spoon fed to them because although it has the power to set one free, it also has the power to unravel the entire thread work of everything upon which some people base their existence. And they will argue, fight, kill, and do unspeakable things to protect that fragile little world of theirs.

This goes for everyone around the world. It is amazing, inspite of our differences, just how much we all have in common, and how much we are ALL alike.

Again, tread lightly on the "realities" of those who've yet to free their minds from the mainstream.

9/11 is an ink blot test; you see a secret Jewish cabal that controls the planet as being responsible, some see UFOs as being responsible.  Your theory isn’t any more confirmed than the UFO one is.  Meanwhile, all of you are willing to ignore a mountain of evidence that shows it was Al Qaida.  You’re going to believe what you believe until your dying day, but when that day happens the 9/11 truther version will still be an unconfirmed fringe fantasy.

The key word here, too casually used by yours truly, is "know". I am all over people when they say that they "know" that Jesus is their savior and I can only say that I believe. I concede to that and thank you for keeping me true.

I'm over here advising people to tread lightly and I stepped right into it , didn't I.

Back again for my fair share of abuse
I worked around aircraft for the first two years I spent in the military, and I don't see how any air frame is going to come out winning in a contest of plane Vs. concrete and steel. I've also worked in concrete construction alongside demolition crews after I got out of the Navy.

I've been told be structural engineers and demo experts that these types of buildings are designed in such a way that they will not collapse on their own weight unless specific support elements that exist throughout the entire building from top to bottom are first and systematically compromized.

I can't understand how this has never been brought to open public attention.

I don't easilly submit to all the conspiracy BS out their. Many of these people mean well but there are just so many different elements in the course of human events that come into play in many complex ways. So complex is the larger picture as a whole that it is often difficult for the conspiracy theorist, and their antagonists alike to simply sum up all the events into one simple explanation "in the box".
 >:( The evil American hating Muslims got funded and organized and pulled off the operation of the century...Now let's go to war and kill them all... be afraid people of America, be very afraid!!
I'm not so sure about this one...
:o The evil corporate "Illuminatti" who are trying to take over the world staged it so they can further their agenda of corporate world conquest...
:-\ I still don't quite see it as all that black and white.

One thing I do know is that the whole issue stirs alot of emmotion on both sides and that people tend to lose rationale when emmotions come into play. The next thing to go after that is OBJECTIVITY, and after that it's our very inner humanity.

In this frame of mind, it becomes very easy to dehumanize others who are unfamiliar to our psyche. Fear takes over and in that state of mind, people, not persons, but people, in general become quite easy to manipulate as a whole.

No... I do not completely submit to either side as I see one side wanting peace and justice, but being unable to present themselves in a way that the public, in general, can take seriously; and I see the other side as an extreme , short sighted ideology that seems blood thirsty for revenge.

I'm not a structural engineer, but I do know that it takes much more heat and and forced air (like that of an exothermic torch which uses magnesium and high pressure oxygen) than that of what an aircraft wreckage can generate to compromize structural "I" beams or rebar to a degree that would cause the result we saw on the towers.

What do I know about heat generated by aircraft wreckage?
I served on the "Crash and Smash" team on the flight deck of an aircraft carrier as a sideline duty to my job as a shipboard aviation fuel tech.

Those fires burn hot. Commercial grade fuel burns even hotter and is is more volatile. But even in the large fuel quantities of a jet liner, they wont burn hot enough. Much of the fuel ignites in the initial explosion which due to the kerosene base of the fuel itself, will not generate enough force to compromise a structure of this kind.

What do I know about stucture?
I sailed through a typhoon in the Sea of Japan in '97 in a smaller four spot amphib ship and we were hammered repeatedly by 40 foot swells for ten hours straight (first time in my life that I was truly in doubt for our safety although the old chiefs were never worried :-[ ). Were talking about tens of thousands of tons of water hitting a ship of similar structural integrity.

I know that the frames of our ships are the same grade steel used in heavy industrial construction and those ships, inspite of being built much thiner and lighter than they were during World War II, can take a hammering.

I know that where I grew up, the skyscrapers have stood up to 7.1 earthquakes, flexing and swaying as much ten feet in either direction of the building. I don't see a jet liner explosion or even ten of them equalling that kind of power.

I'm not making any accusations, I'm just saying that to me, it just doesn't make sense.

As for the war itself, hey, WakeTFU, free your mind. There's no noble cause to it. It's just business (cynical, I know), but it's the attitude some must take in order to fullfill their duties honorably even when they don't agree with what's happening. Didn't have to like it, didn't even have to believe in it, but I gave my word so I did it with honor but not zeal.

And  justified or not; live with the inhumanity of war of which I was a part, I shall, with everlasting shame for myself and the entire human race for not rising to the enlightenment and divinity of which, as a youngster I once believed we were all capable...but now, no longer.
