Caryta Valley Wildlife

There were 5 of us in camp on a 5 day Bowhunt.  3 wanted Axis & 2 were Texas residents after Whitetail.  We drove 25 hours to hunt Axis & all the checking seemed favorable.  Other exotics were on this 4000 acre ranch.
2 hunters had just left without tagging any game.  Our group had 2 shots at hogs right at dark 1 shot at a Doe & I killed a Ram on my last evening of hunting.  No LEGAL bucks were seen-actually only 1 Axis buck & approx. 15 Axis does & fawns in the 5 days.  The facilities were very nice & the manager/owner is a fine person-we just feel the AXIS BUCK hunting is overrated & we were ALL very dissappointed.  We thought we would at LEAST SEE what we were hunting for.  It is a very good place for Turkey OR hog hunting at night.  None of the group would ever return.
always thankful
