Quality Pistol collection
« on: January 22, 2004, 05:51:26 AM »
I have started to collest some real quality airpistols. These guns are all well made accurate and in some cases very powerful for an airpistol.
The first gun added to the collection was a RWS model 9N. A unique action with a over the top cocking arm and a metal well made spring pistol. Once you get used to the springer type recoil its very accurate Nice gun and one I never will part with.
The second gun is a Beeman P3. This is a really fins example of a target gun A single stroke pneumatic with a velcity of 400 fps  and a trigger that muct be felt to be beleaved the trigger pull from the factory is 28oz!and its adjustable to lighter than that!  This gun is so accurate its scary. If you find one do your self a favor and buy one.
The third gun is kinda famious as the most powerful springer pistol ever produced. And you know what they are right. The gun is both powerful and accurate. And it fceels good in your hand solid with great balance. I hav'nt had this one long but I am practicing woith it to get the accuracy I know is there it will take a bit of practice what with the ubique recoil I have to deal with. this ones another keeper.
The next 2 pistol are not here yet really they are not even mine yet but I am in the middle of the deal for both. the guns are a daisy 717 which I hear good things about which should serve until I get a 777 (yeah right) and a read solid BSA 240 magnum this is a custom gun in a presentation case labeled 1 of a 1000 nice case and beautful gun. Can't wait until, its mine forever. Well thats the extent of my quality collection I do want to add a webley and a IHZ to the batch when I could afford to so as to complete the collection.  well thats it for me. Photos of my airguns can be found on the fun suppily forum. so have fum

Here's a pic of the ones I have.  I also have a Daisy 747 and a Beeman P-1 not in the picture.  Least favorite are EASILY the 747 and the Tempest.  The 747 is made VERY flimsy and the Tempest is VERY hold sensitive.

DEF--

Where ever did you find a BSA 240?  I thought they didn't make/sell them anymore.  Beautiful gun.  Would you believe I had one a number of years back?  I loaned that and my Crosman 1377 to my father-in-law to get rid of some pesky birds and somehow he lost the darn things.  To this day, I'm still kicking myself over that one.

Anyway, I would love to buy a brand new BSA 240, not a presentation version, though, unless that's the only way to get one...  Please tell me where I can buy one.

Lawdog, do you know?

Right now I only have one gun, the Beeman P3, which I love.  I get a kick from teaching my 9 yr old daughter how to shoot.  I'll be getting a .20 cal P1 in Mar for small critter control and all around fun.  That will make a set.  If I'm lucky enough to get a 240, well, then I will have a collection!

There actually is another one on the American Airguns Classifieds for the last 3 days he wants $170.00 If that one is sold put a wanted add on there I have had good luck with them on that classifieds a whole lot of folks read them and they seem to have just about everything. Its worth a shot. I hope you get the one that is on there now.

Nice collection if I do say so myself. If I may ask what the springer at the top of the picture?  Just wondering.
I must ad that my complete collection consists of many more guns than just the recent quality guns mostly being classic crosmans but that was'nt the point of the post. I probable habe 20 or so pistols total. including a custom made dennis Quackenbush 25 caliber 2540.

Bob,
would you beleave I saw one for sale not more than a couple of weeks ago? check out the american airguns classifieds and if necessary post a wanted ad its easy and its free. I have gotton many answers over the years on guns I was looking for from that use. Mine I sort of fell into, by talking to and trading with a fellow. when I mentioned I was looking for one he just happened to have just gotton one in on another trade. some more wheeling and dealing and some cash later it was mine. a great find as it is in mint condition as well as being a commertive and coming in a custom wooden presation case. It should be here in about a week.
Try the AA and the Fun Suppily classifieds and put wanted ads on both you will come up with one soon enouigh they seem to be running just under $200 ($160 -$180). Good Luck!

WHERE ARE ALL THE PISTOL COLLESTIONS GUYS?
« Reply #7 on: February 08, 2004, 07:30:40 AM »
I got my BSA and my 717 in the mail yesterday and boy they are sweet. All the good things I heard and read about the BSa are true few of the bad. The 717 surprised me on how fun it is to shoot. Very quiet and very accurate. Its like a silenced firearm should be. real nice shooter it may be a frankenstein of sorts but the parts used were first rate. I like this gun its a keeper unless I somehow stumble across a 777 chesp.
Yesterday I finually found a Tempest for me. Its a 90% gun in the bos complete with papers looks very good and womder of wonders its another Beeman. Last year if you told me I would own any beeman guns I would have laughed at you Now I have 3(p1,P3,Tempest) Amazing how the world turns. I also have a line this week on a Crosman Mark I in mint condition still in the box I may be able to get it even if the seals are fried I can and will get it fixed. It one of those guns that are worth it.
So come on guys lets see your pistol collestions. I know not everybodys is as nice as mine but lets see all the pistols we have hou there.
I just wish it was easier to post photos here.

Deaf, you might recall me from theold cas-l list where I went by Will Ketchum.

As for airgun pistols I only have 2.  One is a Crosman CO2 that I bought years ago to practise my combat shooting.  I haven't shot it in years.  The other is a Diana Mod. 6 springer. It has changable inserts for the front sight and a nice rear sight.  It has a 2 stage trigger that gets some getting used to.  I have shot amny rifles with 2 stage triggers but this is the only pistol.  It is very accurate and is fun to shoot.

« Reply #9 on: February 08, 2004, 07:38:42 PM »
and would you be intrested in getting rid of it?
Yes I do remember you will been over a year since I could play cowboy and i miss it this airgun stuff was another hobby I had. Right now since I am currently in a wheel chair and having to learn to walk again with phy therpy twice a week and lots of doctor visits. I am currently completely house bound and must do something with my time I can'r go to the range and shoot real guns but I can still shoot airguns in the house with a proper trap(and I have a few of them) so this is what I do with my spare time. and being home 24/7 I have a lot of spare time. I had to sell more than a few guns this year to survive befour the SSI desided I was disabled so I am now slowly replacing some of them at least with(which for the most part are a LOT cheaper to buy) airguns. Its what I can do plus I do enjoy it. I plan to have a nice collection when I am done.

Here are some of the custom made pistols in my collection. These are CO2 ones that use a 12g bulb. I am in the UK so power has been restricted to 6ft/lbs, even though the design some of them  capable of topping twice that level.

You always have the greatest toys which most of us can't even touch. I just wish I had acess to half of the prototype guns you get to shoot let alone some of the great stuff in your collection. can you please adopt me? so I can play with all your neat toys. then you can move to the states and make them as powerful as they can be. That I would love to see they would be some real competition to the onl;y gun we have here with that kind of power the LD. You have some really sweet guns. I can only hope my small collection could be half as good as yours.

Thanks for your kind comments. The important point to remember is that these things were made to be used, not just collected. It's good to see you do just that with your fine collection as well. :D Did you see the pic of the dueller style air pistol  I posted on Airgunforum? I see some airpistols described as such but this is the closest in appearance and handling qualities to some of the fine examples I have used over the years. It only lacks a finger spur for my tastes to make it absolutely perfect for offhand shooting. Great fun. 8)  Vic - El Caro.
