H&R will refinish it for $30 plus shipping.... They do a high polish first, SB1 in blue or black oxide, SB2 can be refinished in color case hardnening or the same blue or black oxide as the SB1.

Theres a ton of tricks to try. One is clean the spot with alcohol and touch it with superfine steel wool then apply cold blue lapping on to the surounding area. After a couple of coats rinse with water and buff lightly with steel wool and 30 weight oil. You will know its there but know one else will!! My Dad was a gun smith and I seen him do things that amazed people ..... most of the time they were just common scence moves ! ... Mark

Touch up with cold blue first and see what you end up with (once it is blued you wont see it much), especially for a hunting gun. You can always decide to send it in, or take it to a local gunshop. If I was going to do something other than cold blue to any of mine I would consider a nice case color job.

Anyone know if H&R will refinish a nickel frame or if they would strip and the blue or case harden?
