.204 sight in
« on: February 12, 2012, 02:50:40 PM »
I bought a 204 last year for $140 , it was a great shoting rifle.I own a 223 , 243 ,4570, 270 and 20ga ush NEF.  Now the winter has evolved,,,, I bought a new laminate stock off an ultra , I took the time to fiberglass bed the forarm and make a "piller" around the forearm screw. Lapped the barrel with scotchbrite till smooth. Today I shot 3 shots into a 1/2 in. cluster at 100 yds, 40 gr v-max and aa 2300 !!! This might be the best shoting rifle I own. And I have 3 safes full!!!! Over 60 rifles................Mark

I love my .204. Mine is a factory fitted barrel for my BC.
After Christmas I went 3 for 3 on crows from 160-200 yards, shooting from a chair using a set of crossed sticks...they just couldn't resist the gut pile from the deer I got with the .357 max Trapper!
It is the only center fire rifle I have ever fired that you can see the bullet hit before recoil moves it, which makes it a blast to hunt with!
Mine also seems to love the 40 gr. V-Max bullets...we appear to be in the minority on that.

I shoot 40gr. Berger's & they seem pretty wonderful outta my 204. The 32 V-Max's weren't liked so much by my Ultra.

Finally got out to shoot the 204 today. It really likes the 32 gr.V-max under a full load of BLC-2.Got it on paper at 25yds dead on.Went out to 100 yds and it was shooting 6"high.Brought her down some and shot a five shot group you could cover with a nickol. Was having a bunch of fun until the good old Kansas wind got up about 30as a cross wind.Gave up and called it a day.Next trip out i need to bring the camera.

Only a few over 60 guns.
Heck, I got almost that many Handis!   :o :D
At least 4 of them are 204s and they all love the 32s and 3 of them love the 45gr VMax just as well.
