1895SBL got one
« on: February 14, 2012, 01:29:38 AM »
Picked up one in 45-70 this last weekend and love it so far.  Did a little shooting and it shoots great. it is my first Marlin lever and my first 45-70.  I have been looking at them for awhile and settled on the SBL sure glad I got one. Going to put a Montana sling on it and leather stock slip with bullet loops.  I like the ones from levergunleather.com but they are like 6 months out.  Does anyone know of any other makers of these, that they like at a reasonable price and turnaround time?  Not sure about putting a scout scope on it yet, I do like it with just sights.  But I wouldn't mind having an adjustable apeture on it.

I was looking at the leather shell holders but couldn't bring myself to the price of them and ended up going with just he normal cheap elastic ones you fine everywhere. If you cut a hole for the rear sling stud it stays in place even under heavy recoil.
