I dunno what every one is using but I'd suggest you get a loading manual and choose the powder they suggest as giving the highest velocity with the bullet weight you plan to use; use that powder as a starting point.

I use Unique in my .38's with the plated bullets.  I use Unique in my .45's with plated bullet.  I use Unique in my .45 Colt with plated bullets.   Pattern here?  I load all pistol loads with Unique for target, plinking and basic defense.  I use H110 when I need real barn burners for Heavy defensive situations or bad animal stoppers.

I'm on the Unique wagon too. All my loads except for the hot 45 LC's get Unique. I'm a Lil Gun guy for the hot stuff. Unique will probably work fine in a 9mm.

Remember it's where the first bullet goes out of a cold barrel that counts most.

Unique if/when I handload for my 9mm and/or 45 auto (plated bullets).  I use it in the 10mm, too, for cast or plated plinkers.

I use accurate #2 or bullseye for 9mm. Mostly accurate though--I picked up 2lbs over a decade ago and haven't used it much--just started reloading for 9mm about a year or so ago. Want to use up the accurate powder. Seems to work well--and I may even buy some more when what I have is used up.

We (my son and I) have been having good results using 4.2 gr. of W-231 with Berry's 124 gr. RN plated bullets.  At my club range this combo works well in his Glock 19 (gen. 3) and my P-38.  Incidentally, 5 gr. of this same powder works great in my son's FNP-40 (with Berry's 180 gr. RNFP plated bullets) and in my M1911 clone (with Berry's 230 gr. RN plated bullets).  We had started out using Unique in all the guns mentioned and it worked okay.  However, a couple guys at the club suggested trying W-231.  I got a can and tried it.  It's cleaning burning than Unique & meters the most consistently through my powder measure of anything I've used.  The accuracy has been as good or better too.  From here on out I'm going to save my Unique for shotshells.
