I have one of the last ones Savage made, a .223 over 12 ga., 3" with screw in chokes, syn. stock! I have never scoped it it shoots so good. .223 has a 1-9 twist, shoots anything from 45-70 grain great. This is my go to yote calling gun, best of both worlds! The little rifle barrel, mated to the shotugun is as stiff as a varmint barrel. I have taken yotes to 250 with open sights on this thing, and took a nice tom turkey with the 3" and a mossberg turkey choke at 42 yds. I will keep my eyes open, might want to check gunsamerica.com, auction had some on there last week.

I believe it was back in 1972 that I bought a 30-30 over a 20 guage just like the picture. Seems like I paid $89.00 for it new. Very accurate and handy gun. Like a lot of other guns in my past I wish I still had, I ended up trading it for something. Would love to see Savage come back with them again in some popular rifle and pistol calibers over a 20 or 12 guage shotgun. A stainless 357 mag, 44 mag or 45 LC over a 20 guage would have my full attention.

A good friend owns a 357Mag/20 ga and he loves it!!!

I was at three stores today, did not find any of interest... I was amazed at the prices asking for osme used (Very poor condition) firearms.  But no Savages found.

think the model is a 24v series D in 30-30/20  Anybody wanna part with one.  Found one but the guy has two sets of barrels. 30-30/20 and 222/20.  I have no use for the 222 as i already have a 22mag/20.  Holding out to find the right one the first time.  Surely one of ya'll can be talked out of an old wimpy 30-30!
