Nice looking set up , now to avoid waterfowl, you will need an overhead cover either of tin or chicken wire type to keep from catching waterfowl..... this is a big problem in spring and alot of states require the overhead exclusion device. Some trappers just have holes on side float and put in willow sticks bent over trap with space underneath for rat to go but exclude waterfowl. The will sticks, just two or three are bent in a u shape.... A friend of mine uses tin as has alot of used tin on hand and it doesnt hurt rat catch... he sprays with dull green or brown paint mostly to keep from notice of trap thieves. If your trapping in North Dakota you know what im talking about.... wardens and sheriffs are on alert with all the trap stealing going on.
