375 remington ultra mag, reloading question/help

Remington sells two models of the bullet in 375RUM, is this sufficient for my brown bear hunt? I have read about the barnes-x bullets and I like what they have to say. Is there a company out there that would reload for me so I do not have to invest in all the equipment? I doubt I use the 375 very many times and would hate to buy severl hundred dollars in a one time reloading scenario. Is there any body out there that could reload my brass for a price, if so let me know? Thanks for looking, I can't wait to get back in the bush to search for my brownie :-)

What weight (in grains) are the two factory loadings?  What bullet(s) are they using?

I have bought the 300 grain swift a frame, these are factory loads. The other bullet is a soft point 275 grain which I heard was bad for Grizzly.

I think you'd be hard pressed to improve much on that 300gr Swift.

These folks due custom handloading, and mention the 375RUM on their webpage...

375 RUM update

Just got back from my cabin where I sighted my 375 in at 25 yards Well I am close, my shoulder got tired), the kick is very manageable with the muzzle brake I had installed by Mag-na-port, I can't imagine what this thing would be like without it. Any reason why I would not use this on the black bears while I am up there? My thought is to put one in the front shoulder of the blackie. Comments please.....

Plenty of gun for black bear and grizz.  

Try using ankle weights over your shoulder to cushion the blow a bit.  Woks for sighting in slugs well.

Dave,

 Do you shoot in the shoulder of a black bear when shooting a higer powered riffle? Had one get away last year with my 7MM Mag, he spun completely around then took off like he was fine, small blood trail which I lost 75 yards into the timber.

Sorry to say that I have killed neither.  Been out there but never pulled the trigger.  I have 2 hunts lined up already this spring to try to remedy that. Bought a new bow just for grizz. :roll:

Most guides would rather have you break the shoulder, and then put one into the vitals.  A hit in the heart may allow the bear to run far enough to make it into the alders or willows.  No one wants to chase a bear into alders or willows.  Just look at my yard and you would know why.  If you break both shoulders and knock him down, then a second one in the vitals if necessay would do it.

I know several guides, they all have the same opinion.  Minimum .338 Win Mag, shoulder shot, to brake both shoulders preferably.
