Awesome 22LR pistols
« on: February 19, 2012, 11:31:32 AM »
I would like to get a .22LR pistol but I would really like that can take large capacity clips like a 25 round clip.  Do they make .22LR pistols to take these big of clips or not?  What is a good 22LR pistol for less than 500?  Any tips or tricks on this subject would be great appreciated?

The Ruger Charger would fit your budget and accept regular 10-22 25 round magazines. You would probably want to shoot from a bipod with the magazine hanging below the pistol.

Ruger MK I, II, III series or the New Ruger SR22
These only have 10 shot magazines, but the MK series can come with many different lengths and types of barrels
Both are very reliable with most 22LR ammo. The SR22 can even shoot the hyper velocity ammo, is easy to take down. It also can be dry-fired. It's quickly becoming my favorite 22LR pistol. About $300 new. The MK series can be found for $200 used and are an all time favorite semi-auto 22 pistol.

The Ruger charger, I have never heard of this gun or seen a picture of it before.  Is it possible that you could post a picture of this gun?  For this gun, what is a good kind of ammo for it?  Do Ruger pistols like a particular kind of ammo?

Hi Buckshooter,
I have posted a link to an ad for a Charger. It is essentially a pistol built with a 10-22 Ruger action. Magazines, trigger assemblies and many other accessories will fit. There is alot of information to be found on the Rimfire Central forums, there is a section on Chargers there.
If I didn't have two Savage Strikers I would have one of the Chargers.
