Got the sickness bad!
« on: February 21, 2012, 10:25:18 AM »
I have enjoyed the 243 and 270 Win, the 16 & 20 ga. Pardner and 50 Cal. Sidekick so now I went out and bought the 45-70 dies for a rifle I don't even own yet! I think I got the sickness bad. Only cure is to buy the 45-70.  Joe

Sorry to be the one to tell you this... it sNOT gonna cure anything... Its like a treatment.. It will passify you for a period of time. How long who knows too many variables to accurately say...

Joe, I have news for ya. There appears to be no real cure, at least no one has claimed to have found one. In buying the 45-70 you are merely treating the symptoms. And from experience, I tell ya it works! Clears up those symptoms pretty quickly for the short term, and when a touch of the sickness returns (and it is pretty much guaranteed to return) just take another dose of symptom clearing (i.e. acquire another Handi) and enjoy the relief while you can.

We look forward to seein' ya around here again!  ;D

No, you have just a mild case.  We'll diagnose it as severe when you run out of factory chamberings and start in with reamers, stub jobs, wildcats, custom stocks, expensive glass, etc. etc.  At that point, you'll lay awake at night contemplating how you're gonna build the next one, and how much spending can you hide.  Then, it's time to get your affairs in order.  THAT is sick. ::)

Which .45-70 were you planning on?  BC, standard or Trapper?  It's probably a good idea to get all three ;)   I missed one, didn't I? Make it four the Stainless Ultra.

Good luck,

Pete

Not sure Pete, probably the standard. I almost bought that barrel that was posted yesterday but decided to just save up a few more bucks for the whole gun. I may go around to the pawn shops nearby and see if anyone has a handi, whatever the caliber and then just get the 45-70 barrel. Joe
