If it is the de-cocker only model, after you press the decocking lever down to safely drop the hammer, you let go of the lever and it automatically springs back to its horizontal position.
The decocker safety model has a detent in the lower position, so once you drop the hammer, the lever stays in the lower position and the pistol is on safe. If you want to fire the pistol you must push the lever back up with your thumb.
A co-worker has the de-cocker safety model and If i was to own one I would prefer the decocker only, I feel that the long double action trigger pull is enough to satisfy my safety requirements, just like a DA revolver. I don't like the push up action to take off a safety, which differs from most of my push down to deactivate pistols, and I would worry about forgetting to push it back up after decocking if I was carrying it.
