Author Topic: If all Muslims are so blood thirsty how do "infidels" travel freely? (Read 3571 times)

From some of the various posts on this board one would think that a caucasian "infidel" could not go where Muslims are the primary people and survive without being converted or killed. Their are extremists in any religion and true "nuts" about everywhere but my take is that the average Muslim just wants to live their life day to day just as most Christians do. Their is a very interesting motorcycle forum called Advrider (adventure rider). Many of the threads are about riders from either North America or Europe that ride all over the world including many Muslim majority rule countries and somehow survive. Many comment how friendly, hospitable, and helpful the native Muslims are to them. How could this be? Here is an example of one thread: http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=619155

To answer you question guzzi, the average believer in islam is about as religeous as the average catholic. They go to work, go home and pay lip service to their religion.

But there's just some guys on here that have a true hatred for them. To some people on here, hating followers of Islam has become their own extremist religion.

It's called I D E O L O G Y

Nobody is just one thing, but for ideologues, religious wingnuts and haters, categorizing people as just one thing - and attaching lots of stink to that one thing? - it's easy and comforting. Thus, Muslim=Terrorist.

Ideology, bigotry, a little xenophobia, intellectual laziness... sometimes a little more of one, other times the other, oftentimes a stew.

Those guys don't have an ideology they're shopping around and identifying with, which makes their observations (as opposed to opinions) a heck of a lot more credible than ideologues' rantings.

If the average Muslim just wants to be left alone, then WHY don't they shut up their hate mongering clerics and radicals. Are they scared of them? Or do they secretely believe in what they do? If it walks like a duck........

Most radical Christians, like the church that protests funerals, are not accepted by the majority. Radical Christians don't go around blowing up things, and killing people. They just preach hell fire and damnation or go into seclusion in compounds.

We as Christians are just trying to point out the obvious, and we want people to heed the warning, to trust but verify. I don't mind living in a cold war with them, like we did the communists, if people don't get blown up and killed, especially civilians.

It appears with a little research that the main problem Iran has with this pastor was that he may have been actively trying to convert Muslims in Iran to Christianity in 2006 along with protesting Iranian schools presenting the Muslim religion to his kids. Maybe the reason that these adventure riders do not get arrested is that they respect the cultures of the counties they are in and keep their mouths shut about their religious and political views. There is a time a place for everything.

So it's not ok for Christians to try to get converts, but it is ok for Muslims to KILL Christians? Muslims try and do get converts here in America, but if someone, even in America converts to Christianity, they are sometimes killed, even in America. So much for a religion of peace. If it was so good, they why do some Muslims convert to Christianity, risk being rejected by their family and sometimes killed, convert? Must be they found out the Christ's love is greater than their religion.

My son in law regularly travels to middle eastern/African countries for his job. His company feels so confident, they have an armored limo pick him up for transport to the compound. Once there he cannot leave the compound, which is usually guarded with manned towers. Sounds sort of like jail, except they pay him.

The OP has a point but over looks the problem. In most countries the West in particular Religious extrimist are not supported by the general public. They are condemed by others from their country or religion when they harm others. Muslims have failed to do this so far.

My friends son is an engineer/missionary in East Africa. He said it is hard to talk to Muslims especially those from the middle east. Black Africans are easier to talk to about religion. He has to stay in a secure area also with his family, that his company pays for. So much for freedom of religion in a Muslim nation.

Tell that to the 3 hikers caught in Iraq near the border with Iran.. Tell that to Danny Perl..tell that to Nick Berg both of whom as reporters were parted from their heads in Islamic countries and by "Islamic law" (whatever that is).

Interesting. Out of 24 replies only one (Singleshotsam) has even addressed the question. What is the difference then between those that seem to be able to travel freely and even receive support from the locals and those that are attacked? Is is pure chance? Is it that the person does not seem to represent a threat? Is it because the person is brazen enough to ride a motorcycle by themselves or maybe with another person in what many consider to be enemy territory? Is it that they maybe try to show a bit of respect for differences instead of wanting to turn the country into a glass parking lot? I am still waiting.

I don't know who you are talking about, but it sure isn't me ! Show me one place where I said ALL Muslims are guilty of barbarism. Save your strength..I never said it; in fact I have been very careful not to say it. Just a couple days ago I gave real credit to those like Dr Zuhdi Jasser and from time to time have given proper due to others, such as Walid Shoebat..

BTW: Those 1% gay of the population would be executed by the fanatical branch of Islam..

No matter what they may claim, their fruit speaks for them. Many people seem to think that because one comes from a family or a country (US) where many are Christian...that makes them one also. Nothing could be further from the truth; being a Christian takes a deliberate act and change.

To answer the OP question......very carefully. To possess a Bible in Muslim lands is a capital offense. To display a cross or Star of David in Muslim lands is a capital offense. To speak ill of the prophedophile in Muslim lands is a capital offense. To caricaturize the prophedophile anywhere is a capital offense. For a woman to go about unescorted by a male relative and uncovered is an offense punishable by lapidation. Most all of the offenses are punishable by execution in one manner or another.
