You can get a fair idea of owner opinions by the number you see for sale. (very few)  ;)   I haven't heard of anyone, including myself, who doesn't like theirs.  Even better if you "maxi" it.

There are a couple here who had issues.

But I think most find them enjoyable. I have one and Maximised it. I liked it before and Love it now. With the Maximum you can shoot .38 spc .357 mag, 360 DW, and the beloved .357 Maxi. One of the very versital chambering.

Quite a few of us have more than one Maxi.....not that we like them or anything. ???   Having a .357 that's not a maxi is sorta like havin' pie and no icecream ::)

Fortunately or Unfortunately, depending on how you look at it.  I'm one of those, but to me it seems like having chocolate ice cream with sprinkles, then having the pie or the other way around. ;D

Got lucky and picked one up.  I love it just the way it is (all natural), no Maximizing it for me.  ;) ;D

A word of advice, get one, yesterday! ;D

My quandary, I personally, don't think I have enough Handi's but, I know I have more Handi's than I really need or should have.

If you ask my Grandson (The "rooster" in my profile pic) he will tell you in no uncertain terms they do not make anything any better. 3 shots fired 3 dead deer !
Try the Federal 158gr SP ammo that Walmart sells it is accurate and deadly too.
Good luck

I just drove an hour+ each way to get my second even with gas as high as it is.  It stays mag for awhile.  Already got a maxi.  Have passed up several other calibers cheaper and closer, including a 45LC BC carbine.  Would trade only for a Marlin 94 same caliber.
Think as if you LIFE depends on it... IT does..!  Be Well...

Mine has not been max'd (yet) but has the longer throat to take .360 DW which is a pretty good round itself.

revbc- did you chrony that load. I am thinking of getting the 22 inch 357 as I have the 18 3/4 talo reamed to max. was thinking maybee picking up some extra speed would help with the 22. And who doesnt need two maxi rifles. This extra receiver sitting around is hurting my eyes. :)

I think I chronyed the Ranch Dogs at around 1800-1875.  The xtps were at 100, not sure about the cast, 50 or 100.  I think 100.
