Here is a spring bear I took spring before last. used my faithful  Rem 760 in 35whelen and 225grn Nosler partitions. So far 2.5 bears(helped a friend put down his bear), 2 Roosevelt elk, 10 Blacktail bucks, 1 mule deer buck and a coyote with my whelen.

Super- Nice One! was trying to figure out where you got him but the mix of pines and what appears to be a maple has got me. but must be a coast Wa or OR Bear-Muddy

Yep- luckly this one wasn't to far from a dirt road, that I could get my truck up. My first bear I killed was about 4 miles from the nearest road- I learned the hard way a bear doesnt pack like an elk. bear quarters are slimy and keep wanting to slip on the pack- its all fun when you think about it later. but I will never shoot a bear that far from a road again.
