Please help identify TC 3-9*X40

I have a nice TC gloss 3-9x40   The front section turns about 1..5 turns in either direction and seems to change the clarity.  I'm about to sell this scope but I'm not sure how to describe this feature and the model of this scope.

That's an adjustable objective, there should be some range markings on it out to infinity.
