reloading for my 1895 (30-40 krag)

I have a restored Win. 1895 in .30 U.S (30-40). It is NOT a carbine, I realize that its a very old gun and I would like to shoot a slow/low press. load out of it that will still be lethal at 150yds. I like Heavy bullets like 220's, but will take advise on all. Any advise?

Here's the data I'm using with RL7 if you are interested.  I like the slow burning powders in the older guns as pressure spikes are minimal.  I'm currently using this with 180 gr. Hornady BTSP's and not pushing the upper limits.  My current load is 26.5 gr. RL7 and this gives me enough energy to maintain 1600FPS at 150 yards for the Hornady SP.  After discussion with Hornady they stated that 1600 needs to be maintained at the terminal end for good expansion.  I have a set loaded up, but I'm awaiting warmer weather to shoot for groups.  Devestating on a Milk jug of water though at this point.  hehe
 
Bullet: Lyman # 311644 190 gr. (#2 alloy)
Powder: RX7 (Reloader 7)
Start grains:19.5 = 1522 fps.
Max grains: 28.5 =2062 fps
Over all length @ 2.925" BC: .272 SD: .286

No problem and enjoy.  Thinking I might get some 220gr. RN on the way from Hornady to play with too.  With the 180's I cannot get close to the rifling.  I was also wanting to try some 210 gr. Leads from Montana bullet works.  ;)

I would suggest finding copies of two articles written by Ken Waters (Peterson's Rifle and Handloader magazines) for the 'Pet Loads' column he wrote 25-35 years.  Waters has since retired.
 
The second more up to date article was about reloading for a reporduction M1895 exclusively!

I believe it is the Wolfe Publishing Company's Rifle and Handloader magazines to which you refer. They may have copies of the magazines or alternatively they sell Ken Waters "Pet Loads Complete Volume". It is over one thousand pages and at least for me is very enjoyable reading. First article was from November 1968 and the second was September 1985.
