My 1942 Colt police positive target 22lr revolver
« on: February 25, 2012, 10:13:42 AM »
I just picked up a 1942 Colt Police positive target 22lr revolver w/6'' barrel.  What a nice revolver.  I notice one thing about the colts its the cylinder lock up when you pull the trigger.  There is no play at all in the cylinder when the trigger is pulled.  It had some freckling on the bluing but using a very soft rag with some fritz removed most of it but you need to go very softly.  I took off the side plate and found it dry inside but a quick lubing of moly fixrd that.  Now i notice the DA is really smooth now.  Even the sear let off isslicker too.   This is another one for the misses to shoot.   She has a taurus model 94 with a 4'' barrel already in 22lr.   I'm going to get her a new CZ Kadet 22lr pistol next. I need to take her to the GS and get her fitted for a bigger revolver soon too.  I'm thinking a charter arms bull dog 44 but i'm not sure yet.  She doesn't like the 9mm luger, 32acp or 9mm mak so far. I haven't let her try my 380acp yet. I'm still on the fence and going slow i need to get her out shooting more often.  Once she is hooked on shooting i'll buy her any gun she wants.

If she likes the charter 44 special, that's an excellent close range defense cartridge.
